Q. What types of mausoleums are available for cremated remains?
Answer:
The cremation urn can be placed permanently in a columbarium. A columbarium is a room or a freestanding structure with niches (recessed compartments) for placing the cremation urns. Columbarium’s can either be located indoors or outdoors, in a cemetery or a church. It can also be housed within mausoleums. To personalize the niche, one can include photographs, mementos or other items. The cremation remains can also be entombed in a crypt in a mausoleum. A crypt is also used for entombing human remains in a mausoleum. However, this procedure requires more space and is more costly than inurnment in a Columbarium.
